In 2025, Shakespeare Truck Center started a division of Gummerson’s Garage running under the name of GW Equipment dedicated to equipment and machinery sales. We are focusing on carrying mostly Canadian made equipment and attachments from many local, quality brands like Baumalight, Martatch, Walco, Wifo, NM attachments and more.
Shakespeare Truck Center, a family-owned business founded by Al Gummerson, began as a repair garage in Tavistock in 1968. It quickly specialized in truck repairs, offering 24-hour towing and becoming an International Truck Parts & Service dealership by 1975. The company expanded into used truck sales, a body shop, and opened Mid-West Truck Supply. In 1981, they became a Mack Parts and Service Dealer. Due to continuous growth, they relocated to their current Shakespeare location in 1983, establishing Shakespeare Truck Center.
Further diversification included developing Rent-A-Box (1990) and a significant expansion in 2014. More recently, in 2018, they became a Dual Dealership with Traction Heavy Duty Parts and a TruckPro member, followed by becoming a Walinga Authorized Parts and Service Provider in 2019. In 2025, they launched GW Equipment for machinery sales and partnered with Berdex of Netherlands for hog trailer warranty and service in Canada. The company credits its long-standing success to its committed staff and loyal customers.
